GPR data can be captured in a 3D data set by setting up a grid pattern for your X,Y coordinates.  Once data is collected and processed, you will have a data set that will include your Z coordinate.  With this data, the operator is able to "slice" through the data from top to bottom in user defined measurements.  3D is very helpful in applications such as graveyards, debris fields, post-tension slabs, utility locating and many others.

3D underground features can then be exported into CAD files for client use.  If GPS is used, the GPS data can also be exported with the features.

SLICING THROUGH 3D DATA

The figures on the right are "slices" through the data from the top of the surface, penetrating into the elevated concrete slab.  This proves to be invaluable to engineers when conducting repair work or verifying rebar placement.  DCI can take a 3D image, and slice through layers of the data in whatever thickness we prefer.  So, if we wanted to see what every inch of data looked like or every quarter inch, we can do it.

CONCRETE DELAMINATION

Concrete Delamination testing is a service that is becoming a staple for many engineers.  Anywhere there is rebar, corrosion wants to destroy it.  This is very dangerous.  Not only does corrosion destroy the strength of rebar, but it also eliminates the bond between concrete and rebar.  Bridges, balconies, or any reinforced concrete structure are at risk.  This risk is elevated when near salt water, especially the ocean coasts.  Below is an example of a GPR Delamination test.  The results are put into modeling software to create the data seen.  These are all services that DCI offers to their clients.
